Single-lip drilling procedure:

The single-lip drilling (ELB) procedure is utilised in the diameter range from approx. 0.7 to 40 mm. The coolant lubricant feed (KSS) is inside the tool. The KSS-chip mixture is removed through a longitudinal groove on the outer tool shaft.

Tool design:

  • Steel sleeves for clamping the tool
  • Steel tube
  • Carbide head with cutting edge

STS/BTA procedure:

BTA: The designation for deep hole drilling with external feed of coolant lubricant up to a drilling diameter of approx. 400 mm. This procedure is also designated as STS drilling (Single Tube System).

The coolant lubricant feed (KSS) is from the outside between the bore wall and the boring tube, chips are removed through the inside of the boring tube.

Ejector procedure:

The ejector deep hole drilling procedure is utilised in the diameter range from approx. 18 to 250 mm. The coolant lubricant feed is between the boring tube and an inner tube (two tube system) The coolant lubricant emerges at the side on the boring head, which it rinses, and flows back with the chips through the inner tube.
